Patna: Disgruntled Janata Dal – U leader Sharad Yadav got yet another step closer towards losing his Rajya Sabha membership and his near-certain expulsion from the party when he, at a meeting of his supporters and anti-Nitish forces in Delhi on Sunday, 'removed' Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the party President and 'replaced' him with Gujarat party leader Chhotu Bhai Vasawa as JD-U's acting President.
Yadav, who is yet to get over the fact that the Mahagathbandhan of the JD-U, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Congress in Bihar was over for good and safely ensconced in the pages of history books, in the presence of 19 state JD-U Presidents, declared Nitish Kumar and his supporters as rebel leaders who had engaged in anti-party activities – the exact same allegations the Nitish camp has made against Sharad Yadav and his followers.
"Nitish Kumar is not a President anymore and all of his decisions are illegal now," Yadav, who lost to the Lok Sabha elections to the then RJD leader Pappu Yadav from Madhepura seat only to be nominated for the Rajya Sabha seat by Nitish Kumar himself, said.
Arun Srivastava, the JD-U leader who was recently expelled from the party by Nitish Kumar, said that a representative of the new JD-U would meet with the Election Commission on Monday to stake claim on the party and to declare Nitish Kumar and his supporters non-members of the party.
"We have also formed a 'discipline committee' under which actions would be taken against Kumar and others.
Parveen Amanullah, who once was part of the Nitish cabinet until she decided to go rogue a few years ago, echoed Srivastava's sentiment saying Sharad was the real JD-U and in the end, the EC will also see through their eyes.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
