Patna: Speaking after his weekly Lok Samvad program in Patna on Monday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar showed all signs of him now being comfortably ensconced in the NDA camp agreeing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on nearly every issue that he disagreed with him in the past.

Kumar said he agreed with the BJP leaders on holding both national and state elections on the same day to cut time and money for the grueling process.

"Holding simultaneous elections for Lok Sabha and state assemblies is the right way to go because it will give maximum time for work and delivery to any elected government. I would also like to include Panchayat and local bodies elections in this list as well," he said.

The Chief Minister, however, ruled out mid-term poll in Bihar saying he did not see any need for yet at this time.

Kumar, taking strong exceptions to the slow pace of murder investigation in Karnataka involving the killing of noted journalist Gauri Lankesh, said that it showed the complete failure of the Congress government in Karnataka.

"If this had happened in Bihar, everyone, including the media, would be crying hoarse demanding my resignation but since this happened in Karnataka, no one seems to be bothered by it," the Chief Minister said.
