Crime Goes Unabated in Patna; Another Person Murdered

Patna: Despite claims of improved law and order in the state, crime continued to skyrocket in Patna as unidentified criminals, just a day after the murder of one Tarkeshwar Kumar under Kankarbagh police station, shot and killed a 25-year old man on late Friday night in Mandiri area under Rupaspur police station.

Dharmendra Kumar YadavA police patrolling party discovered the body of Dharmendra Kumar Yadav by the roadside in Rukanpura around 2:00 am Saturday morning.

Authorities are trying piece the clues together to get to the killers of Dharmendra.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears Yadav was shot to death, a police official said.

Both Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi have repeatedly insisted that crime in Bihar was well within control though realities on the ground say otherwise.

In the last two months alone, at least a dozen people have been killed in separate parts of Bihar with Patna topping the list with seven.
