Patna: Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) leader and Madhepura MP Pappu Yadav, at a press conference in Patna on Tuesday, accused the CBI of acting at the behest of the NDA government at the Center when it once again convicted Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in an offshoot of the infamous fodder scam that hit Bihar in the '90s during Lalu-Rabri regime.
"How many times the CBI can punish someone for the same crime? The CBI is expected to act in an unbiased manner but it seems it is being guided by the Modi government at the Center," Yadav, who is no stranger to prison life himself, said of the former Chief Minister who was convicted by a CBI court in Ranchi last week for his role in the fodder scam.
Yadav, who is the protégé of the RJD chief until he decided to form his own party a couple of years ago, also rubbished accusations of 'dynastic politics' against the Lalu family saying this should not even be an issue in politics.
Known for his inclination for dharnas and rallies, Yadav notified of the change in plan on his proposed January 6 Bihar bandh saying instead, the party would now demonstrate outside district headquarters on the same day and would also carry out a march to the Governor's House on January 27 to demand action against Bihar doctors who, he claims, are members of the Health Care mafia and also against degrading education system in Bihar.
Starting January 7, Yadav would flag-off what he called 'Pappu-Ranjit Jan Ahaar Mobile Canteen' to all universities in Bihar though he did not specify whether it would be free or students would be required to pay for the food.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
