Patna: Two days after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Patna organized a 'dahi-chura' feast for its workers and supporters on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, party leader and MP from Patna Saheb Shatrughan Sinha organized a get together of his own on Tuesday. Unfortunately, not one BJP leader from Bihar was present on the occasion.
Sinha, an actor-turned-politician who obviously has been sidelined by his party leaders for his continued criticism of his own party leadership and his undying affection for convicted Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, was a no show at the BJP or Lok Janshakti Party-sponsored Makar Sankranti parties though it was not clear whether he was invited at either of the parties or he was invited but chose not to go there.
Sources said Sinha had invited all legislators from Patna but no one showed up at the Sankranti get-together organized at the meeting hall of the Gardener Road Hospital adjacent to the Income Tax Building on Bailey Road.
This is Sinha's first visit to Patna this year.
The program began at noon and went on till 4:00 pm. More than 1000 people attended the event – many being doctors, businessmen, media personnel, and social workers. Those who came to the party enjoyed one on one chat with the star of hundreds of Bollywood movies and were not shy in asking him to pose with them for a quick snapshot.
As reported before, Sinha has repeatedly gone against his own party and its many policies including demonetization and GST and has gone out of his way to praise Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar calling them his personal friends while casting doubts on the integrity of the CBI judge who convicted Yadav in the fodder scam and sent him to jail for three and a half years.
There have been reports that the Health Minister in the former Vajpayee government will be denied a ticket in the next Lok Sabha elections and he was cozying up to the RJD and the JD-U in case the rumors turned out to be true.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
