Patna: Police in Patna on Tuesday arrested four men in connection with the recovery of two badly-mutilated bodies from a village near Phulwari Sharif and recovered two country-made pistols, a motorcycle, 10 live cartridges, and six cell phones from their possession.
The arrested men were identified as Dipu Rai, Subhas Paswan, Santosh Kumar, and Deepak Kumar, all hailing from Patna district.
At a press conference, Ravindra Kumar, City Superintendent of Police (SP) (East) said that the two men, identified as 27-year old Chunnu Kumar and 25-year old Vikas Dom, belonged to the same criminal gang to which the other four belonged.
"The gang robbed Rs. 3.5 about three months ago from near the GPO. However, there was a dispute over the split of the loot that led to the murder of Chunnu and Vikas Dom last Friday," the SP said adding the victims were beaten to death by iron rods after which the criminals tried to burn their bodies so they could not be identified.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
