Patna: Pappu Yadav, the leader of the Jan Adhikar Party (JAP), on Monday opened his roadside food stall called 'Pappu-Ranjit Jan Ahaar Canteen' just outside Patna College where students could buy a 'thali' of complete meal for a nominal price of Rs. 20.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav, an MP from Madhepura, said that under the current administration, students were not able to get the required nutrition that all young boys and girls need and that is why he took this initiative jointly with the Jan Adhikar Chhatra Parishad, the student wing of his party.
The former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader who broke away from Lalu Prasad Yadav a few years ago after he felt slighted by Lalu's two sons, said that education in Bihar was in a pathetic condition but no one appeared to be concerned about it.
"Some people are too busy trying to save their own chair while others are only concerned with the well-being of their own families. No one has time for poor people and students except when its election time in Bihar. We believe in serving the mankind over cheap politics. By starting up 'Pappu-Ranjit Ahaar Canteen', I want to make sure students did not have to worry about food every day and instead, they spend more time in studying their books," Yadav said adding the menu at the canteen would be different each day so students don't get bored eating the same food over and over again.
Earlier, Yadav held his 'Janata Durbar' outside Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) where he listened to complaints against the doctors' and hospitals' in Patna and their predatorial policies against poor patients.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
