Patna: At least one person was seriously injured when a crude bomb exploded inside the room of a dharmshala (inn) near Sheesh Mahal Chowk in Ara in Bhojpur district Thursday morning.

According to police reports, five persons had gathered inside Room N0. 10 of Jain Dharmshala on Thursday morning with an intent to commit crime. However, due to mishandling, one of the bombs went off causing a panic in the inn as guests ran helter-skelter to seek safe space from the explosion.

While four men in Room No. 10 managed to escape taking cover in the confusion that ensued, one man who was identified as Vicky Paswan was seriously hurt with burn on over 50% of his body.

He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment but was asked to take him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) where he remains in serious condition.

One person who was identified by his Adhar Card that he left in the hotel room was later caught by the police.

Police suspect old rivalry between members of the same family over a piece of land that led to today's incident.
