Patna: All six candidates for the Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar were declared elected unopposed in a formal ceremony on Thursday where Assembly Secretary Ram Shreshtha Rai presented them certificates of their election in the presence of senior party leaders.
This would be the fourth term for Ravi Shankar Prasad in the Upper House while for Mahendra Prasad, it would be his seventh stint as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
Despite the NDA's overall loss in the House, the Union Minister played it down saying he would settle for the General Elections over by-elections any day.
"They can keep the consolation prize as long as we have the main prize," Prasad said.
Both Akhilesh Kumar Singh and Manoj Jha pledged to present their party's view in the Rajya Sabha to raise pertinent issues affecting the people of Bihar.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
