Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and the leader of the opposition in the state Assembly Tejaswi Yadav, addressing a press corps outside Bihar Assembly on Friday, accused the Center of conspiring against his father who, he said, was the victim of a giant plot that involved his entire family.

"We have been saying it from the very beginning that this is a well-hatched conspiracy against myself, my father, my mother, my sister, and all other members of my family. With a new report in the Indian Express that says that FIR was filed against my father after the legal wing of the CBI concluded that there was no evidence of any irregularity, it is clear that there was a deep conspiracy against our family," the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar said while waving the clipping of the report published in the Indian Express.

Accusing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of being part of the NDA cabal that was determined to politically destroy his family, Yadav said that his father answered to every single question raised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi but in spite of that, the CBI carried out several raids on his family's properties.

"Eight months have passed since the last raid was conducted at our house and yet there is no sign of any kind of charge or an indictment against us. Nitish Kumar had decided to break the Grand Alliance and go back to the NDA and that is why he participated in the grand conspiracy against us. After all, he needed an excuse for his actions so he could tell it to the people of Bihar," he said.

Yadav repeated his demand for an explanation from the Chief Minister why he was not taking any action against his own Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh whose name also surfaced in the fodder scam.

"Why hasn't he fired his Chief Secretary yet? Also, what is he doing about those implicated in the Srijan scam? It is evident that corruption charges against us was merely an excuse for Nitish Kumar to go back to the NDA and had nothing to do with corruption itself," the former Deputy CM said.
