School Children Get a Chance to Visit Herbal Garden at CM's Residence

Patna: Over 300 students of seven government schools in Patna on Monday got an opportunity to visit the home of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar located on 1 Anne Marg where they were given a tour of the herbal garden and other parts of the sprawling campus.

Kumar's Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Dr. Gopal Singh and officials of the state environment department explained to the children the properties of different herbs and medicinal plants and their usage in daily life for a healthy living. Students also had a chance to circle the 'pipal' tree that was planted from a sapling from the ancient Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya where Lord Buddha had attained enlightenment over 2500 years ago.

To further enrich their visiting experience, children were also given a tour of various wings of the campus like Lok Samvad Hall, Saumya Kutir Hall, Sankalp Hall, Sampark Kutir, and Nek Samvad Hall where different meetings take place.

Schools that participated in the trip included Navin Middle School, Rajvanshi Nagar; Girls Middle School, Punaichak; Boys Middle School, Punaichak; Middle School, Sheikhpura; Rajyakiya Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya, Anisabad; and Boys Middle School, Amla Tola.
