Patna: Former Chief Minister of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi on Wednesday slammed the Nitish government in Bihar saying since the Janata Dal – U went back to form the government with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), crime and communal incidents had skyrocketed in the state.
"Law and order has completely collapsed in the state as no one is feeling safe anymore. Murders in broad daylight have become the order of the day and targeting of Dalits, backwards, and minorities by hate groups are going unfettered. Since the day Nitish Kumar broke alliance with the Mahagathbandhan and went back into the BJP-led NDA fold, crime situation has become worse," she said.
Accusing the Chief Minister of surrendering before the communal forces, the RJD leader said that recent religion-based clashes in Aurangabad, Bhagalpur, Jamui, and Samastipur were indicative of the nefarious designs of the 'saffron brigade' that, she said, was hell-bent on turning Bihar into a battle-zone.
The former Chief Minister further alleged that the ruling NDA in Bihar was trying to shelter people like Arjit Shashwat, the son of senior BJP leader and Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, who has been accused of inciting communal violence in Bhagalpur during just-concluded Ramanavami festival.
"The fact that Ashwini Choubey's son has not been arrested yet indicates that Nitish Kumar is not serious about containing communal violence in Bihar," she said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
