Patna: Alarmed by a number of incidents of communal flare-ups in Bihar in the past few days, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday paid a visit to the Khankah-e-Munamia Mittanghat in Patna City to pray for communal peace and prosperity of Bihar.

Kumar, accompanied by Patna Mayor Sita Sahu and former Congress leader Ashok Kumar Chowdhary who is now a Janata Dal – U member, laid the ceremonial 'chadar' on the tomb of Hazrat Sayed Shah Makhdum Munami Pak Rahmatullah,

The prayer was performed by Hazrat Sayed Shah Shamimuddin Ahmed Munami.

Later, the Chief Minister also participated in 'Mehfil-e-Shama' featuring qawwalis based on religious scriptures with a message of universal love and brotherhood.
