Patna: Once considered to be the right hand of Lalu Prasad Yadav only later to briefly switch his allegiance to Nitish Kumar, Dr. Ranjan Yadav whose political stars have waned in the past few years, emerged from his self-imposed retirement on Friday to take part in the 'Yadav Jagran Manch (YJM) function held at the Sri Krishna Memorial Hall.
Wasting no time, Yadav, without mentioning the name of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav who is now doing time in a Jharkhand jail in connection with his conviction in the fodder scam, accused him of using his fellow caste members to advance his own political agenda and ambitions only to throw them out when he felt they had outlived their usefulness.
"Some politicians used the support and votes of the Yadavs when they thought they were needed but later they were either forgotten or conveniently ignored," he said.
Interestingly, while the hall was decorated with pictures and cutouts of notable politicians and eminent citizens from the Yadav community, Lalu Prasad Yadav's picture was nowhere to be found.
Ranjan Yadav, a former MP from Pataliputra constituency, denied getting support from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh saying today's meeting had representation from a number of parties including the left parties and even the RJD.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
