Two Dead in Patna after Boat Capsizes in the River

Police help a family member of the drowning victim on Friday.

Patna: Two men died of drowning in the Ganges when an overloaded small boat capsized in the river during its return to Patna from the Diara area on Friday.

As reported, several men have gone on the other side of the river to take a bath. While returning, when the boat was in the deepest part of the river, it lost its balance and turned over throwing all occupants in the water.

While four men and the boatman were able to swim back to safety, two men did not come out of the water.

The boatman arrested after his boat capsizes in the Ganga killing two people.

Upon hearing the news, the police launched a search and rescue operation with the help of divers and while one body was recovered, the body of the second victim was yet to be found.

Police have taken the boatman into custody.
