Major Reshuffle in Medical Colleges in Bihar

Patna: Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey, while inaugurating a two-day conference of neurosurgeons at Hotel Chanakya in Patna on Saturday, said that noted physician Dr. Ajit Kumar Verma had been made the principal of the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) while Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Prasad has been appointed as the new Superintendent of the same college.

Dr. Prasad had previously served as the principal of Rajkiya Bettiah Medical College and a president of the Bihar chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

Dr. Sitaram Prasad has been made the principal of the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH). He was already attached with the NMCH as one of its professors.

Meanwhile, Dr. H Agrawal was made the principal of the Vardhman Mahavir Medical College in Pawapuri and Dr. Vinod Prasad, the principal of the Anugraha Narayan Medical College, Gaya, was asked to take over the Rajkiya Bettiah Medical College in the same capacity.

Dr. Hemant Kumar Sinha, a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Bhagalpur, was made the principal of the same college.

A notice of these changes was sent out to the affected hospitals and physicians by the Health Department, Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar said.
