Patna: While Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders and its allies, including BJP MP from Patna Saheb Shatrughan Sinha were attending Iftar party at 5 Deshratna Marg, the official residence of former Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, the Janata Dal – U was doing the same thing on Wednesday at the Haj Bhawan where NDA leaders had gathered to participate in the event.
Besides Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, others who were present on the occasion including Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Chowdhary and even a couple of Congress leaders who insisted their presence had nothing to do with politics but they were there in the spirit of universal brotherhood and the sentiment of the occasion.
"We were invited by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to attend the party so here we are in the spirit of the occasion," said legislator from Barbigha Sudarshan.
Another Congress legislator from Buxar Munna Tiwari said that he believed Nitish Kumar was his leader also for being committed to the development of Bihar.
However, the elephant in the room was once again Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) leader and Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha who was conspicuous by his absence just as he was at the Iftar party thrown by the NDA at Bapu Sabhagar a few days ago.
JD-U state President Vashisht Narayan Singh downplayed Kushwaha's absence saying he had a previously scheduled engagement that kept him occupied elsewhere.
"Kushwaha is a strong leader of the NDA and his absence must not be seen as some sort of political upheaval within the alliance," Singh said.
The JD-U leader also shrugged off reports of BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha attending the Iftar organized by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) saying the Patna Saheb MP was invited to attend the JD-U Iftar but in the end, it was his choice to go with the RJD party.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
