Patna: Former cricket star Yusuf Pathan, the elder brother of test cricketer Irfan Pathan, on Wednesday inaugurated the opening of the Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) at the Jagjivan Ram Stadium in Phulwari Sharif to find and train young talents from Bihar.

"Bihar is known for its love for cricket and that is why we decided to open our training center here in the state capital. We aim to tap into the hidden talents in Bihar and provide them with training and coaching using world-class equipment and techniques," Yusuf Pathan, who made his debut in the first-class cricket in 2001, said.

The academy has already selected 20 children for training and more will be selected in the coming months, he said.

Talking to the reporters, Pathan said that the training curriculum has been prepared by Australian cricket veteran and former Team India coach Greg Chappell and two other coaches from Australia who have paid great attention to every detail of the game to assist children enrolled in the institute.

Patna is the 10th such center in the country with other institutes located in Delhi, Bangalore, Surat and six other cities.

The former cricketer said both he and his brother Irfan Pathan will be paying periodical visit to the academy to see how the children were faring and if there were rooms for changes and improvements in the institute that could further help the students.
