Man's Decomposed Body Found from Patna Hotel Room

Patna: Police in Patna on Friday recovered a decaying body of a man from a room in a hotel on Govind Mitra Road under Pirbahore police station after other people in the building complained of foul stench coming out of a room.

Deceased Manoj Kumar SinghAs reported, police used a duplicate key to gain access to Room Number 402 where the deceased had been living since 2014. Once inside, they found the decomposed body of a man who was identified as 56-years old Manoj Kumar Singh, a senior regional manager of a pharmaceutical company.

The last time someone saw Singh alive was three days ago, a hotel employee said.

Police informed the family members before the body was sent to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for autopsy. Later, Singh was cremated at the Gulbi Ghat in the presence of some of his family members.

Authorities are waiting for the autopsy report before announcing the cause of death.

No suicide note was found from the victim's room, police said adding foul play could not be ruled out at this time.

A native of Khusrupur in Patna district, Singh's wife is employed in Indore where she lives with her daughter. His younger brother lives in S K Puri in Patna.
