Patna: Senior leaders of the Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday met with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav at the official bungalow of former Chief Minister Mrs. Rabri Devi to seek support for the TDP's no confidence motion against the Narendra Modi-led NDA government in the upcoming monsoon session of the Parliament.
Galla Jayadev, Ravindra Kumar, and Garikapati Mohan Rao – all TDP MPs - met with Yadav at his residence where he remains under judicial custody after getting provisional bail on medical grounds in a multitude of fodder scam cases that essentially ending his political career for good.
The visitors gave a personal letter written by Naidu for the RJD chief who assured him of full support in their demand for no confidence motion against the Modi government at the Center.
It may be recalled that the TDP, a former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ally, has 16 Members of Parliament while RJD only has four.
This is the first 'political' meeting by Yadav who is barred by the court from engaging in any political activity or making political statement to the media while out of jail on bail.
BJP leaders in Bihar wasted no time in crying fould and described the meeting of Yadav with the TDP leaders as a violation of the parole saying Yadav violated the bail conditions and the court should revoke his bail without further delay.
Other members of the TDP had earlier met with Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy DMK Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi in Chennai for support for the same cause.
