Patna: Nearly 200 Income Tax officials in Patna on Tuesday raided 15 locations owned by or associated with the owners of the Mentors EduServ Coaching Institute and seized Rs. 80 lakh in cash and documents that could incriminate the owners on tax evasion charges.

Raids were carried out at the institute's Boring Road, Boring Canal Road, Rajapur Pul, Kankarbagh, Bazar Samiti, Shivpuri, and Bailey Road locations along with another location in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand state.

As reported, the institute had been on the IT radar for quite some time after it continued to report little income year after year despite its steady growth in Patna and elsewhere.
