Patna: Pappu Yadav, the Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) leader, on Sunday demanded a CBI probe into the sexual exploitation of young girls in the Muzaffarpur shelter home to find out who were involved in raping the girls and what was the government doing about it.

Yadav, the MP from Madhepura, made this demand at a press conference in Patna despite an already high-level probe being carried out in the case that led to FIRs against ten staff of the children home and a manhunt against an 11th one.

"I will raise this issue in the Parliament and also about the murder of the six-year old boy in Fatuha," he said.

As reported, 44 children at the Muzaffarpur shelter home were said to be sexually abused 209 of which were suspected to be rape. This was confirmed by Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harpreet Kaur adding an FIR was lodged against the staff of Sewa Sankalp Ewam Vikas Samiti, an NGO, on May 31.

The JAP leader once again raised the issue of special package to Bihar and declaration of the state as a 'drought-hit' area so financial aid from the Center started to flow in.
