Madhepura: To mark the 100th birth anniversary of former Bihar Chief Minister BP Mandal, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday visited his native village Murho in Madhepura district and paid floral tribute to the man who chaired the commission named after him that spearheaded sweeping changes in the existing reservation policies.

Kumar placed a wreath at Mandal's memorial and also took part in an all-religion prayer session while also releasing a memoir on the life and achievements of the leader.

Others who were also present on the occasion included Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey, Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Disaster Management Minister Dinesh Chandra Yadav, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Minister Ramesh Rishideo, and Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) chief and Madhepura MP Pappu Yadav.

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders including Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav also paid floral tribute to Mandal on his portrait at the RJD office in Patna.
