Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday, admitted himself into the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi to get a complete physical checkup just days after he went back to work after being sick for a large part of early this month.

Kumar was placed in a private ward where he underwent a number of medical tests before being released by the hospital around 6:00 pm.

Speaking at a press conference in Patna, party national general secretary RCP Singh said that the Chief Minister had the viral fever in Patna and he went to the AIIMS just for a routine checkup to ensure all was well with his health.

"This was a routine checkup and there is nothing to worry about. The Chief Minister voluntarily admitted himself in the hospital and after the doctors gave him a clean bill of health, he returned to his Delhi home on 6 Kamraj Road," Singh said.

Kumar will meet with Janata Dal – U leaders at Bihar Bhawan on Wednesday and will also hold meetings with senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to seal the deal on seat-sharing for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, party leaders said.
