Patna: Students of Patna University on Saturday took out a rally from Darbhanga House to the university office to protest against the latest hike in various fees in the Post Graduate (PG) programs.

Led by Humanity Faculty Counselor Abhishek Raj, the protest rally was first ignored by the university authorities but when the anti-university slogans failed to die down and students began forced entry inside the building, they were invited by the Pro Vice Chancellor for a talk and to resolve their concerns.

Prof. Dolly Sinha, during the talk, said that she will look into the students' various demands and will do her best to make sure fees were not raised as alleged by the protestors.

Students are alleging the university has raised fee for language and non-practical subjects from Rs. 1620 to Rs. 4040 while raising the fee for Art (Practical) from Rs. 2120 to Rs. 5320.

Abhishek Raj and M.Ed Counselor Arvind Kumar said that the fee had been raised by the university in the guise of raising the quality of education at all PU colleges even though there was no visible or measurable indication of any improvement in education at any of the colleges in Patna University.
