Patna: Authorities in Patna on Saturday arrested a man accused in the broad daylight murder of Tabrez Alam, the personal sharp-shooter of gangster-turned-politician Mohammed Shahabuddin, who was gunned down by motorcycle-borne criminals near Kotwali police station in Patna on Friday.
Police arrested Tariq Malik from his Jehanabad residence based on an FIR lodged by Tabrez's widow Shama Parveen who had named seven persons in the case involving the murder of her husband.
As reported, police have identified the two men on a motorcycle as Guddu and Bablu and have also seized the motorcycle that was used in the commission of the crime. The motorcycle had a fake registration number to hide the identification of its actual owner, police said.
A team of Forensic Science Lab (FSL) from Delhi arrived in Patna on Saturday and took sample of the blood of the victim from the crime scene to carry out an investigation.
Meanwhile, the body of the sharp-shooter was brought from Patna to his native village in Jehanabad where he was buried at a local cemetery amid a presence of thousands of people.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
