Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, at a press conference in Patna on Monday, slammed the Nitish government on rising crime situation saying criminals in Bihar had more AK-47 assault rifles than the entire police force in the state.
Speaking a day after the sensational murder of former Muzaffarpur mayor Samir Kumar and his driver who were gunned down by AK-47-wielding criminals on motorcycle on Sunday night, Singh said the crime situation in Bihar was worse than any other time in the history of Bihar and no one was safe anymore in the state.
"Everyday reports of murders, bank robberies, snatching, and gang rapes are coming from all parts of Bihar but the Nitish government is busy blowing its own trumpet insisting everything is just fine in the state while those who are supposed to keep an eye on criminal activities are too busy busting bootleggers and sand to keep the Chief Minister in good humor," the RJD leader said.
Accusing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of engaging in massive propaganda, Singh said the state or the country cannot be run on catchy slogans and propaganda alone as was the case in Bihar and at the Center.
"Hospitals don't have adequate doctors or beds but Modi and Nitish are talking about sky in the pie called 'Ayushman Bharat'. Just like all other schemes, rich capitalists will exploit poor people to fatten their own pockets. First they destroy the existing health care plan for the poor and then they talk about providing them the same kind of medical care that rich people get. Who are they trying to fool?" he said.
Singh also took Nitish administration to task on failing to provide financial relief to farmers who had been the victim of flood, drought, hail and thunderstorm.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
