Patna: Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon, at the 5th annual convocation of Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) at Samrat Ashok Convention Center in Patna on Friday, gave out gold medals to 15 toppers as girls once again prevailed over the boys bagging 10 out of the 15 gold medals.
Speaking at the Bapu Sabhagar, Tandon, who is also the Chancellor of universities in Bihar, congratulated all the graduates and urged them to go out in the world and bring many laurels to their home state. He also highlighted the need for more quality research in Bihar universities aimed to solve socio-economic problems of the nation.
The Governor also praised the university for being the first one to adopt the new graduation dress policy consisting of Indian attire in place of the old, British version of gown and mortarboard cap.
Vice Chancellor A K Agrawal conferred degrees to 5,103 students from the class of 2018.
Others to speak on the occasion included Bihar Education Minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, and AKU founder S N Guha.
Those who were awarded gold medals today included Devendra Kumar Mandal (BTech-Mechanical Engineering), Shruti Singh (BBA), Sanju Kumari (Bachelor in Business Economics), Rohit Kumar (Diploma in Anesthesia), Jyoti Kumari (Master of Surgery - Ophthalmology), Nikita Kevin Natal (Bachelor of Education), Aniket Kumar (BCA), Arushi Jaiswal (Bachelor in Mass Communications), Kumari Anju Arya (BSc Nursing), Alpana Pathak (MBBS), Nihal Kumar (B.Com-Professional), Amit Anhishek (Doctor of Medicine - Anesthesiology), Priyanka Kumari and Soni Kumari (both Diploma in Healthcare for 2016 and 2017), Ankita Kumari (Master of Education).BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
