Patna: Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, in the presence of top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Bihar, released his new book that focuses on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family and their history of theft, embezzlement, swindling, and corruption going back almost four decades.
Named 'Lalu Leela', Modi, who almost single-handedly exposed the Yadav family of illegally acquiring properties and other assets to the tune of hundreds of thousands of crores without having any known source of income leading to the collapse of the Mahagathbandhan government, meticulously provides details on how the RJD chief, his wife Rabri Devi, their two sons Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejaswi Yadav, and their daughter Misa Bharti acquired more than 141 pieces of lands in prime locations, over two dozen flats in posh neighborhoods, and nearly half a dozen lavish houses in Patna and elsewhere.
Published by Prabhat Prakashan, the 200-plus-page book goes into great details about illegal money changing hands under fake business names and shell companies to avoid vigilance attention and to dodge income tax until the ownership of the property is acquired by one of the Yadav's family members.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said in the next Lok Sabha elections, on one side it would be the images of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar – the two embodiments of honesty and hard work – and on the other, Lalu Prasad Yadav's family that is synonymous with corruption and lawlessness.
"I have known Lalu Prasad Yadav for 48 years and probably know him better than Rabri Devi herself. He has a long history of corruption, deceit, and that is what he has given to his children in his legacy. He could not help himself from cheating even when dividing properties between his two sons where the younger son gets a lot more than the elder son," Modi said at the function at Vidyapati Bhawan in Patna.
Among others who also spoke on the occasion included Central Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ram Kripal Yadav, Radha Mohan Singh, Giriraj Singh, Nand Kishore Yadav, Nityanand Rai, Shahnawaz Hussain, Mangal Pandey, Prem Kumar, and Shrawan Kumar.
"Those who are corrupt don't have long life. Even in politics, corrupt people don't have much longevity. Lalu Prasad Yadav conned the people of Bihar in the name of social justice for much too long and now he is paying the price of it," Ravi Shankar Prasad said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
