BJP Leader Bhola Singh Passes Away; Politicians Pay Tribute

Patna: Politicians in Patna cutting across party line paid respect to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Begusarai Bhola Singh following his death at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi on Friday.

Singh was 82.

His body was flown to Patna on Saturday and then taken to the state Assembly where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, and a number of Janata Dal – U, BJP, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Congress leaders.

"Mr. Singh was a very simple man who dedicated his life to social work. He was extremely popular in his constituency and his absence will be missed by all of his followers," the Chief Minister said.

Kumar's sentiments were repeated by other BJP leaders including BJP state president Nityanand Rai.

Singh was elected to Bihar Assembly eight times from Nawada and Begusarai constituency. He also served as Bihar's Education Minister and Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly.
