Businessman Feared Abducted; Police Hopeful of a Breakthrough

Patna: Authorities are searching for a Hyderabad contractor who vanished soon after coming to Patna on the night of November 6 as police suspect kidnapping for the reason of his disappearance.

According to the police report, Ashok Sah, a resident of Muzaffarpur, arrived at Patna Junction on November 6. From there he went to the Mithapur bus stand where some men introducing themselves as his distant relatives asked him to come in their car so they could drive him to his home in Muzaffarpur.

From the bus stand, the criminals took him to Agam Kuan as indicated by his cell phone record obtained by the police. He made a phone call to an auto driver in Muzaffarpur to make arrangement for his ride home but then his phone went dead. Despite several attempts by his family members to call him, there was no response from the other end.

Meanwhile, family members noticed large withdrawal of cash from ATM from two different accounts for a total of Rs. 2 lakh. On November 7, someone using Sah's debit card purchased jewelries worth Rs. 1.5 lakh from a shop in Biharsharif.

Police have been combing various surveillance video footage from a number of locations and now claim they have a fairly good description of at least two of the kidnappers and breakthrough in the case could be coming soon.
