PUSU Election Scene Heats Up; Many File Nomination Papers

Patna: At least 118 candidates from various colleges under Patna University representing a host of political parties and organizations filed their nomination papers for 29 posts in the Patna University Students' Union the election of which is to be held on December 5.

Patna: At least 118 candidates from various colleges under Patna University representing a host of political parties and organizations filed their nomination papers for 29 posts in the Patna University Students' Union the election of which is to be held on December 5.

Nine of the candidates are hoping to become the President of the union while eight others filed their nomination papers for the post of Vice President.

For the post of General Secretary, 11 candidates are in the field while seven are for the post of Treasurer. Ten candidates are hopefuls for Joint Secretary's position. Thirteen candidates are in the field for the post of Council Member.

Monday was the last day to file the nomination papers and as expected, large crowd was seen outside the Wheeler Senate Hall until 4:00 pm when the filing process came to an end.

Those who were able to successfully file their papers were seen showing victory signs as their supporters chanted slogans in their names to offer moral support to their chosen candidates.
