Patna: With Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s poor showing in state elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana, party MP and rebel leader Shatrughan Sinha, in a series of tweets, gloated his own party's defeat saying truth always had a tendency to win and this time also it was the victory of truth over lies and inuendoes.

Calling Congress president Rahul Gandhi a 'visionary' leader, Sinha, who has become a pariah in his own party because of his relentless criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and his lackeys, said that he had already warned them of dire consequences but no one paid any attention to him.

Congratulating the Congress team on their success, Sinha tweeted: "We congratulate the visionary RG’s entire team including the genius @rssurjewala, the brilliant @shaktisinhgohil , the legal eagle @RKAnand13 & a great loyalist and wonderful human being/friend @kcvenugopalmp and all others of this great grand most awaited and expected success… and his mother, whom you allegedly & tastelessly called by a name which is unconstitutional, immoral & illegal - a most derogatory term - Vidhwa (widow), have proved a big point? This utterance has been condemned by everyone and certainly not appreciated by anyone."

Reminding his party leaders that he had warned them in advance of this day, the MP from Patna Saheb said that he knew truth will prevail in the end and that's what happened in the states where the BJP lost big to the Congress.

"Kahin khushi kahin gam ! Didn’t I warn you about the writing on the wall! And that truth shall prevail? Hard hitting, hard core &.well deserving! Truth has prevailed at last. Hearty congratulations to all our people on the spectacular most expected and awaited victory" he wrote followed by another tweet that read: " Those who have lost, thanks to their arrogance, poor performance or over ambition - also deserves heartfelt condolences. Hope wish and pray that wisdom & good sense prevails upon them soon....sooner the better. Long live democracy. Jai Hind!"

Sinha had been a vicious critic of the Modi-Shah duo saying the two were drunk in power and had made a series of errors that led him turn against his own party in an attempt to protect the democratic values of the nation.
