Patna: Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) leader and Siwan MP Pappu Yadav, at a press conference in Patna on Monday, admitted that he was in touch with both the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal – U to decide which side he would take before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
In what is essentially being seen as waving of the white flag of surrender, Yadav, whose party seems to be on the verge of extinction in the absence of a big brother who could infuse some life into it, speaking at his residence in Mandiri in Patna, said that he was in contact with RJD chief in prison Lalu Prasad Yadav and Prashant Kishore, the national vice president of the Janata Dal – U and the right hand man of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, to explore possible tie with one of the two ahead of next year's Parliamentary polls.
"I have been politically associated with Lalu Prasad for a long time. He is a great leader in the league of other veteran socialist leaders like Karpoori Thakur. I worry about his health in the prison," the MP said.
Yadav, however, while admitting he met with Prashant Kishore a few days ago, refused to divulge the details of his conversation.
"We are prepared to go solo on five Lok Sabha and Assembly seats, if needed," the JAP leader said.
An experienced hand in organizing dharnas and rallies, Yadav said that his party would take out a march to the Governor's House on December to highlight the issues of farmers, students, and rising crime in the state. He further said that he would soon raise these issues in the Parliament as well.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
