Patna: At the end of the second day of the 4-day Ranji Trophy cricket match being played at Patna's Moinul Haque Stadium on Sunday, Bihar team, after a poor performance in the first finning, appeared to be in the driver's seat after they scored 255 runs for the loss of three wickets in the second inning taking a lead of 196 runs over Nagaland.

Bihar's Ashutosh Aman once again dominates the opposing team in Ranji match. With its dismal performance in the first inning when the Bihar team was limited to a meagre 150 runs, Bihar's bowlers did their best to restrict the visiting team on 209 with a lead of 59 runs as Bihar's ace spinner Ashutosh Aman grabbed seven of the nine wickets.

Nagaland's captain Rongsen Jonathan was the highest scorer in the first inning with 53 runs followed by Pawan (39), Abrar Rizvi (28), and Paras (27).

The second inning for the host team also began in unsavory fashion when it lost its first wicket of Indrajeet Kumar at the score of 16. However, Bihar's Mangal Mehrur, once at the crease, showed his masterful batting prowess when he slammed 129 runs on 171 balls placing Bihar in a very comfortable place. His ton plus 29 runs included one sixer and 18 boundaries.

Mehrur was brilliantly aided by Rahmat Ullah who scored a flawless 55 of his own. Captain Babul Kumar managed to pile up 39 runs leaving Bihar in a very winnable situation with a lead of 196 with seven wickets still intact.
