Patna: The first batch of Sikh devotees to take part in the Prakash Utsav arrived at Patna Saheb railway station on Wednesday where they were greeted by Patna District Magistrate (DM) Kumar Ravi and other state officials.

With nearly 250 visitors from various parts of Punjab arriving at both Patna Saheb and Rajendra Nagar terminal, the administration had made full arrangement from receiving them at the stations to transporting them to the tent city in Kangan Ghat on luxury buses.

Talking on the occasion, the DM said that the district administration has set up help desks at both stations for the convenience of the visitors along with making security arrangement for the safety of the devotees.

"Altogether 35 held desk counters have been set up at Patna Saheb, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Patna Junction, Patna Airport and various locations throughout the city where well-trained staff will be able to answer any question that the pilgrims might have. Moreover, senior police officers have been deputed at various locations to ensure visitors are safe and secured during their entire pilgrimage to Patna Saheb. Arrangement for their stay, food, and visitation to various sites around the state capital have been made in advance so once they return to their homes, they will carry only good memories from Bihar," Ravi said.
