Patna: After creating a storm within his family following his divorce appeal within six months of his marriage to the grand-daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Late Daroga Rai, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav is now trying to establish himself as a credible leader in the state in the backdrop of his younger brother Tejaswi Yadav’s meteoric rise in Bihar politics.

Tej Pratap, who disappeared from the political scene for over a month shortly after filing his divorce petition, resurfaced in Patna a few weeks ago claiming he was ready to take charge of the party and lead it to victory in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

On Tuesday, he was seen distributing LED bulbs to those who came to see him. The packaging of the bulb was the party flag color with pictures of both Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi on it.

“I am going to give a modern look to the party whose election symbol of lantern will bear a new look. Instead of using kerosene, it will be shown using LED bulbs,” the elder of the Yadav brothers said.

Yadav said that he plans to hand out 15 lakh LED bulbs within next few days that will come in a box bearing party flag and images of his parents.

The former Bihar Health Minister who ironically flunked in his intermediate essentially bringing an end to his education, said that lantern was ‘not giving enough light’ to poor young students of Bihar and giving them LED bulbs would certainly improve their chance to succeed in life.

Interestingly, insiders say that the bulb is being manufactured by none other than one Sujit Parmar, a longtime RJD supporter and a friend of Lalu Prasad Yadav.
