Patna: Students of BBM and BCA at the Arvind Mahila College in Patna on Saturday observed Freshers’ Day to welcome new students with dance, songs, cat walk, Miss Fresher contest and other fun events.

The event began with the cutting of a cake by Principal Usha Jha who, in her speech, gave the ceremonial advice to the newcomers by urging them to follow the rules and disciplines of the college and study hard to succeed in life and to bring name and fame to one of Patna’s oldest girls’ college.

After the welcome dance by the seniors and other events, about 20 new students took part in the cat walk where the participant introduced themselves to the guests and answered some of their questions.

Finally, the result for the new Miss Fresher was announced and Neha of BCA was adjudged the first-place winner. The first runners-up prize went to BBM’s Kajal, second runners-up award was given to BCA’s Sayma, and third runners-up winner was BBM’ Dhani.

Others to speak on the occasion included Vocational Department Coordinator Prof. MIH Khan, Prof. B Maurya, Prof. Farzana Alam, Dr. Ramchandra Prasad, Dr. Sanjay Agrawal, and Prof. Ajay Kumar.
