Patna: After losing his legal battle to keep his government-provided bungalow on 5 Deshratna Marg in Patna, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav on Wednesday vacated the sprawling home and shifted into equally large home located on 1 Polo Road.

Workers started to arrive early on Wednesday morning to move Yadav’s belongings to his new home. All political banners and his name plate were removed along with the security guards posted at the steel gate.

After the last truck left the building, Yadav handed over the key to the Building Construction Department officials before taking a short drive to his new home.

As recalled, the Nitish administration had been trying to get the former Deputy Chief Minister to vacate the bungalow on the ground that it was allocated to the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and since he no longer occupied that position, he was required to vacate it for the new Deputy CM.

Yadav, reluctant to do so, approached Patna High Court but it took the side of the government. He then knocked the door of the Supreme Court that not only turned down his appeal but also slapped a fine of Rs. 50,000 on him for wasting the apex court’s valuable time.
