Patna: Leader of the opposition in Bihar Assembly and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav accused the Nitish government of trying to protect those involved in the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape and abuse case saying despite Supreme Court’s reprimand, Nitish Kumar was giving shelter to people close to him despite their involvement in the case.
“Chief Minister Nitish Kumar continues to protect those who were involved in the heinous shelter home scandal involving young girls. A number of senior NDA leaders have been implicated in the case but despite a stern warning from the Supreme Court, the Chief Minister remains involved in manipulating the ongoing investigation by protecting the accused and by transferring officials involved in carrying out the investigation,” the former Deputy Chief Minister said.
Yadav, who has taken over the reign of the party in the absence of his father Lalu Prasad Yadav, also took the NDA government to task on the issue of Srijan scam saying the key accused in the case was still roaming free and crime in Bihar had reached an all-time high forcing people live in a constant state of fear.
“Things are horrible in Bihar but the government maintains everything is just fine in the state. The voice of the opposition in the state Assembly is also being muzzled as whenever we wish to make a statement, our microphones are shut down. This kind of dictatorship will not be tolerated by us,” the RJD leader said.
Yadav also railed against 10% reservation to the financially-strapped upper caste people as mandated by the Narendra Modi administration saying until the census report based on caste breakdown was released, any such offering to the upper caste would be a folly.
His brother and former Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, who continues to remain in news for all the wrong reasons, was also present during the press conference.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
