Patna: After its 2015 slogan of ‘Bihar Mein Bahar Ho, Nitise Kumar Ho’ that helped re-elect Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister of Bihar under the Mahagathbandhan banner, the Janata Dal – U, now not a part of the same alliance, on Wednesday unveiled its 2019 slogan with once again Kumar being the front and center of the campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Party leaders in Patna on Wednesday took part in the hoisting of the banners with new slogans at the JD-U office on Birchand Patel Marg.

Trying to keep it simple for those in rural areas, the JD-U is hoping to cash-in on “Sachcha Hai, Achcha Hai’ (Nitish is Truthful and That is Good for Us), and ‘Sankalp Hamara, NDA Dobara’ (Our Resolve to Bring Back NDA Again) slogans selected from dozens of other slogans submitted to the party by various individuals and entities.

Another slogan “Chalo Nitish Ke Saath Chalein’ (Let’s Go Along with Nitish) was also chosen for release in some blocks and districts.

Party state president Vashisht Narayan Singh, Lallan Singh, RCP Singh and many others were present at the unveiling of the new slogans.

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader pooh-poohed the JD-U slogans saying they were not entrenched in truth.

“If Nitish Kumar was truthful, he wouldn’t have walked out of Mahagathbandhan and joined hands with those who have divided the nation on religious and communal lines. There is nothing truthful about Nitish who is, first and foremost, an opportunist and a man with many broken promises. When his own poll expert JD-U national vice president Prashant Kishor showed him the mirror, he became agitated. People of Bihar are not going to be conned by this man anymore,” said RJD Extreme Backward cell secretary Upendra Chandravanshi.
