Patna: After months of teasing both his fans and his political opponents, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha, erased any doubt about his, what appears now to be eminent, departure from his party that he had been a member of for over three decades.

In a not-so-cryptic tweet on Friday, Sinha, the sitting MP from Patna Saheb, in a rather poetic manner, said that though ‘he will not be roaming in the same circle any longer, he will not lose any friend, fan, or well-wisher in the new company he will be in.’

Sinha, who has emerged as one of the staunchest critics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national President Amit Shah, after briefly lecturing Modi on his low credibility, said that he could no longer be in the same party as the two top BJP leaders and the time has come for him to party ways from them.

“Sir, the Nation respects you, but the only thing the leadership lacks is credibility & trust factor. "Leadership jo kar rahi hai or jo kah rahi hai, kya log uspe vishwas kar rahein hain? Shayad nahin!" Any way it all seems to be too little and too late? Promises made in the past are still to be fulfilled. Hope, wish & pray, though I may not be with you anymore - "Mohabbat karne vaale kam na honge, (shayad) teri mehfil mein lekin hum na honge", the soon-to-be ex-BJP leader said.

After months of rumors and speculations, political pundits are hedging their bet on Sinha now running on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ticket from his old seat of Patna Saheb.

The actor-turned-politician had been a frequent visitor to Ranchi jail to meet with RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav who is virtually serving a life term in connection with a number of cases related to fodder scam. He has also seen spotted at the residence of Rabri Devi and her son Tejaswi Yadav in Patna in what can now be surmised as efforts to secure a ticket for himself from Patna Saheb.
