Patna: Forty-one days after holding Inter exams, the Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) announced the results on Saturday for Arts, Science, and Commerce faculties with nearly 80% of the students succeeding in this year’s test.
BSEB chairperson Anand Kishore and Education Principal Secretary RK Mahajan, while releasing the result online, said that this year’s result was slightly better than last year with 76.53% of the students passing in Arts, 93.02% in Commerce and 81.20% in Science.
In the science category Rohini Prakash of Plus Two High School in Nalanda and Pawan Kumar of Government High School in Arwal topped the list with a total mark of 473. Second place went to Satyajit Suman of Neelmani High School in Samastipur and Shubhankar Kumar of Project Senior Secondary School in West Champaran with a total of 472 followed by Mohammed Ahmed of Durga Prasad High School in Katihar with a total of 471.
In Commerce, Satyam Kumar of SKR College in Barbigha topped the list with 472 followed by Sonu Kumar of College of Commerce (Patna) with 470 and Shreya Kumari of Plus-Two Project Balika High School in Bagaha with 469.
In Arts, Rohini Rani of St. Theresa High School in Bettiah and Manish Kumar of Gaya College topped the list with 463. In the second place were Vikas Kumar of Baidyanath High School in West Champaran and Mahenoon Jehan of National Academy High School in Kishanganj with a score of 460. Third spot went to Harshita Kumari and Nishikant Kumar Jha, both of Simultala Residential School, with 458.
Altogether 1,315,382 students had appeared in this year’s test. Faculty-wise, in Arts 425,550 had appeared with 136,8585 passing with first division. In Science, out of a total of 535,110, 252,797 secured first division while in Commerce, altogether 59,135 students had taken the test with 37,260 passing with first division.
