Patna: Family squabble continues to consume the Lalu family with the two brothers, Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejaswi Yadav, not being able to see eye to eye on a number of major electoral issue including the names of candidates for certain seats.

On Saturday, the fact that Tej Pratap, the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi with too many personal demons to fight, had little or no say in the pre-election decision-making process spilled in the public domain when the former Bihar Health Minister, much to the chagrin of his brother and other party leaders, told his chosen candidate Chandra Prakash to go ahead and file his nomination papers from Jehanabad seat against the announced name of Surendra Yadav.

Surendra Yadav, a man with extensive criminal background, is a seven-time legislator from Belaganj seat in Gaya district and was also elected for Lok Sabha once. In 2014, he had lost to Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) candidate Arun Kumar from Jehanabad seat.

Tej Pratap, whose recent personal and political actions have baffled and embarrassed both his family and his party, also told another one of his supporters Angesh Singh to file nomination papers from Sheohar since the party is yet to make a final decision on the name.

The former Health Minister, who is estranged from his wife of six months Aishwarya Rai, has also expressed his displeasure over the party’s decision to field his father-in-law Chandrika Rai from Saran seat.
