Patna: Reacting strongly on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey rather misogynistic comment that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi should keep herself within the confines of her ‘ghoonghat’ (veil), the former Bihar Chief Minister said that Choubey’s snide remark was an insult to women across the country and he should immediately apologize for his comment.

“BJP is an anti-women party that is run by ‘Manuwaads’. I want to know why Choubey hates women so much and is afraid of them. Is this what Narendra Modi’s women empowerment means? Is this the BJP’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ scheme? I can see the pain in your eyes because we rid Bihar of the Chaubeys, the Chabbeys, and the Dubeys like you who believe in a male-dominant society,” Rabri Devi wrote in a series of tweets on Saturday.

As reported, Choubey, a firebrand and often controversial politician like his colleague Giriraj Singh, in an attempt to counter Rabri Devi’s comment that there appeared to be cracks in the NDA in Bihar, had said that it would be best if the former Bihar Chief Minister stayed within her ‘ghoonghat’ and leave the NDA to itself.

Written in Bhojpuri dialect, Rabri Devi, the wife of party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, said that for the last five years, Choubey never went to his constituency to see how his people were doing. “Now he is afraid to go back to his constituency so he is making all sorts of nonsensical statements. First, he needs to keep the women leaders in his own party like Smriti Irani, Sushma Swaraj, Maneka Gandhi, and Vasundhara Raje Scindia in ‘ghoonghats’ and then come talk about me, she wrote.
