Patna: The second phase of the staggered Lok Sabha elections in Bihar is all set to open on Thursday morning as voters in five constituencies go to the poll to determine the fate of 68 candidates representing a host of parties.

Polls in Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Banka, and Bhagalpur will open at 7:00 am as nearly 86 lakh eligible voters will head to their designated booths to vote for the party of their choice.

According to the election officials, over 45 lakh males and 40 lakh females will be casting their votes at 8,644 polling booths in the second phase of the seven-phase election in Bihar.

With over 185 booths in Bhagalpur and Banka falling in Naxal-infested regions, security is going to be extremely tight in those areas, senior election officer Sanjay Kumar Singh said.
