Patna: Angry family members and neighbors in Mandiri area in Patna under Buddha Colony police station on Saturday blocked the road and vandalized parked cars after the body of a 17-year old Class XII girl was found on the ground outside a multi-storied apartment complex.

The girl, whose identification was not revealed, was found around 4:30 am Saturday in a pool of blood with serious signs of injuries caused by either severe beating or by falling from the balcony or roof of the building. She was, however, still breathing and was rushed to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) where she died shortly.

City Superintendent of Police (SP) P K Das said the cause of the death would be determined only after the autopsy is completed.

As reported, there are some video footages from the area and based on it, it appeared the girl came to this apartment on a scooter with a young man. They went upstairs where one of her friends live in Apt. 104 in the B Block.

Police are interrogating the friend and other people in the area.

Meanwhile, hundreds of angry people took to the streets with the dead body and blocked the road near Income Tax Roundabout for hours while burning tires to prevent vehicles from passing. Demanding the arrest of the friend and her brother for killing the girl, the protestors also damaged several cars and two-wheelers parked in the area.
