Patna: With 2019 Lok Sabha elections now in the pages of history books and NDA leaders now breathing again after a grueling month-long campaign, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is back on his agenda of 'raths' and 'yatras' as he flagged of decked-up trucks to promote the campaign designed to help improve 'kharif' production in the state.
The so-called 'Maha-abhiyan', or 'grand campaign', was flagged off by the Chief Minister from the Secretariat premises in the presence of Agriculture Minister Prem Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, and other NDA leaders and senior government officials.
The campaign is aimed at promoting awareness about the type and quality of seeds used in farming, irrigation system, and the way saplings are planted to obtain maximum yield in the kharif production.
"The 'raths' will go to the rural parts of Bihar where officials from the agriculture department meet with local farmers to discuss their problems and to make them aware of all the schemes undertaken by the Nitish government. They will also talk about modern techniques to improve production across the state," Prem Kumar said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
