Paswan Files Nomination Papers for Rajya Sabha

Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief and Central Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha by-election that was necessitated following the resignation of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad who was earlier elected MP from Patna Saheb.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP state chief and MP Nityanand Rai, and Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, and Paswan's son Chirag Paswan were among many who were present on the occasion.

The last date to file nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha by-polls is June 25. On June 26, the papers will be scrutinized for any error or omission. The last date for withdrawing the nomination is June 28. Polling and vote counting will be completed on July 5.
