Patna: Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon on Friday kicked off the International Yoga Day as a number of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal – U leaders joined their fellow politicians to take part in yoga camps organized by various private entities.

Hundreds of thousands of people of all ages were seen rushing to their closest parks and maidans where yoga experts from many parts of the country had gathered to impart instructions to both newcomers and old hands in the ancient art of enriching both body and mind.

While JD-U leaders Maheshwar Hazari and Shravan Kumar were seen representing the JD-U, a number of BJP leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Mangal Pandey, Pramod Kumar, Nand Kishore Yadav, and Arun Kumar Sinha, dressed in 'non-neta' attire, took part in today's national event that began in 2015 at the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Like last year, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, however, was conspicuous by his absence.
